My Worldcon 75 Schedule

It’s always a great pleasure to meet SFF fans and other authors, most especially at the World Science Fiction Convention. This year it will be at  Messukeskus in Helsinki, Finland. If you are there please come over to my panels and say hello. I will be participating in two discussions:

Your Mythology is Much Like My Mythology

Thursday 16:00 – 17:00, 206 (Messukeskus)

Mythologies can be found all around the world. Sometimes there are surprising similarities! With Peadar Ó Guilín (Moderator) Jenny Blackford , Alexandra Rowland, , Elli Leppä, and  Victor Fernando R. Ocampo

Surreal Worlds of Southeast Asia

Friday 10:00 – 11:00, 204 (Messukeskus)

Southeast Asia—a sub-region of the world made up of 11 countries and over 620 million people—is undergoing a renaissance in speculative fiction. More and more authors from the region are spreading their strange stories to the rest of the world, aided by publications such as the long-running Philippine Speculative Fiction anthology series and LONTAR: The Journal of Southeast Asian Speculative Fiction. In this panel moderated by LONTAR’s founding editor, Jason Erik Lundberg, authors from Southeast Asia, Victor Fernando R. Ocampo (Philippines/Singapore), discuss their works in the context of worldwide speculative fiction in English, and the challenges that come with bringing their authentic voices to a global audience.
